About Gandalf:

turkey Gandalf

Gandalf started out as the main menu item for someone's Thanksgiving dinner. He had been purchased as a chick and was fed and raised with the intent of being slaughtered for just such a meal.

As the holiday approached, the turkey's owner had a change of heart. Instead of being killed and eaten, he was given a permanent home and the name Gandalf at the Sasha Farm shelter.

He and the other turkeys are docile, lovable animals that adore being petted. Gandalf is frequently seen standing guard in the doorway of the chicken's and turkey's private building.
